Our Story — Candy Khota’d
Our Story
Building Something Worth Sharing.
We didn’t set out to start a treat company. We set out to create something we felt good about sharing with our son, Khota.

01
It Started at Home
Like many parents, we found ourselves paying closer attention to the foods we brought into our home.
The more we searched, the more we realized how difficult it was to find treats that were fun, great tasting, and aligned with the values that mattered most to us.
And honestly? We thought there had to be a better way.
A better way to create the joyful moments families look forward to without compromising the values that matter most.
Khota’s note: “Mom and Rohmel started asking a lot of questions about what they brought home.”

02
So We Got to Work
We started asking questions. About ingredients. About sourcing. About quality. About why finding better options felt so complicated.
One idea became another. The start of one recipe became three. And before long, Candy Khota’d began to take shape.
Not as a business plan. But as a belief.
A belief that families shouldn’t have to choose between something everyone loves and something they feel good about bringing to the table.

03
More Than Treats
As our journey continued, we discovered something else. The same values that mattered in our kitchen mattered to the people growing, producing, and supplying the ingredients behind the products we enjoyed most.
That’s why we seek partnerships with family farms and businesses that share our commitment to quality, integrity, and doing things the right way.
Because behind every ingredient is a story. And behind every product is a person, a family, and a community.
Today, Candy Khota’d is about more than treats. Our faith shapes how we lead, how we serve, and how we steward.
We’re proud of the treats we make. But we’re even more proud of the values behind them and about building something future generations can be proud to carry forward.

Come Be Part of It
Whether you’re here for the treats, the story, or the mission behind it all, we’re glad you’re here.
The People Behind the Treats
Meet the Family.
Every treat that leaves our kitchen has these three behind it.

Read Amanda’s story
Originally from Oklahoma and now proudly rooted in Northwest Arkansas, Amanda has built her life around faith, family, service, and entrepreneurship.
Her professional journey includes years in corporate agriculture, farm retail, and nonprofit leadership, where she developed a passion for building relationships, strengthening communities, and helping others succeed. Those experiences continue to shape the way she leads—with compassion, integrity, and a servant’s heart.
Amanda is a devoted wife, a proud mother to Logan and Khota, and a grateful bonus mom to SarahBella. Her greatest joy is her family, and she believes some of life’s most meaningful moments are created around the table, through shared experiences, and by investing in the people you love.
Alongside her family, Amanda co-founded Candy Khota’d, a business born from a dream that extends far beyond handcrafted treats.
Inspired by their son, Khota, who is on the autism spectrum, Candy Khota’d was created as a way to teach him entrepreneurship, foster independence, encourage creativity, and build meaningful connections within the community. Every product they create represents more than something sweet—it represents opportunity, growth, purpose, and the belief that everyone has unique gifts to share.
Amanda believes food has a special way of bringing people together, creating lasting memories, and celebrating life’s biggest and smallest moments. Whether she’s serving customers, supporting local organizations, or mentoring others, her mission remains the same: to love people well, lead with purpose, and leave every person she meets feeling valued.
For Amanda, Candy Khota’d isn’t simply a business—it’s a family legacy built on faith, perseverance, creativity, and the joy of serving others, one sweet moment at a time.

Co-Founder
Rohmel Weathers
Recipe development and farm sourcing.
Read Rohmel’s story
Rohmel is a devoted husband, proud father to his daughter, SarahBella, and a grateful bonus dad to Logan and Khota. Family has always been at the center of his life, and it is the foundation that influences both his leadership and his purpose. As the co-founder of Candy Khota’d, he brings decades of entrepreneurial experience, leadership, and a passion for serving people to the heart of the business.
Born in Springdale, Arkansas, Rohmel spent much of his career in Colorado, where he built and led successful businesses ranging from retail stores to a wholesale produce company. He also worked as a business consultant, partnering with organizations to strengthen what he believes is their greatest asset—their people. His work focused on employee retention, customer service excellence, leadership development, executive team building, business growth, and helping companies successfully scale into new markets.
Several years ago, life called him back home to Arkansas when his father developed a serious heart condition. Rohmel stepped away from his career for nearly a year to spend meaningful time with his dad, a season that reinforced what has always mattered most to him: people, relationships, and being present for those you love.
After returning to the workforce, he spent six years in retail leadership before joining an electrical services company, where he helped transform the customer experience by building a customer service culture, developing a call center, and leading the successful expansion into another state. Following a brief season in the hospitality industry, Rohmel and his wife, Amanda, found themselves seeking what God had next.
After weeks of praying together for direction, they felt God leading them to create Candy Khota’d.
For Rohmel, Candy Khota’d is much more than a family business. It is an opportunity to invest in the next generation—especially Khota—while living out the work he has been passionate about throughout his career: serving people, developing leaders, and helping individuals discover their God-given potential. Whether mentoring his children, encouraging a customer, or investing in the people around him, his mission remains the same.
Rohmel believes that every act of kindness creates a ripple. Just as a single stone can send waves across an entire pond, one intentional act of service can positively impact countless lives. That belief is at the heart of Candy Khota’d and continues to guide everything the family does.

The Inspiration

The reason it all started — and still our chief taste tester.
Read Khota’s story
Khota is the heart behind Candy Khota’d—the reason this journey began.
Born and raised in Arkansas, Khota is a high school student with a contagious smile and a heart that naturally draws people in. Whether he’s on the trap shooting range, building intricate LEGO creations, or adding another treasure to his Hot Wheels collection, he approaches life with curiosity, determination, and joy.
More than anything, Khota loves people. His kindness, genuine spirit, and ability to make others feel welcomed have become part of the foundation of our brand. He reminds us every day that success isn’t measured only by what we build, but by the lives we touch along the way.
Candy Khota’d was created to give Khota opportunities to learn, grow, and discover what he’s capable of. His parents, Rohmel and Amanda, are intentionally teaching him the principles of business, entrepreneurship, customer service, financial responsibility, leadership, and serving others. Every event, every customer interaction, and every challenge is another opportunity for Khota to develop confidence, independence, and the skills needed to become a productive, contributing member of his community.
While you’ll often see Khota greeting customers with a smile or lending a helping hand, his greatest contribution is something you can’t package in a box—he is the inspiration behind everything we do.
Candy Khota’d isn’t simply a family business. It’s a journey of growth, purpose, and believing in the potential that exists within every person. And Khota is the reason that journey began.
